Wrestlers of the world need to unite to bring popularity back to the sport of wrestling. During the mid and late 1970's high schools and colleges all over the united states began dropping their wrestling programs because they wanted all of their funding for sports like football. Talk to your athletic director and see if your school ever had a wrestling program. You may be surprised at what you find out. | ||||||||||||||||||
In the 1998-99 Season we took three wrestlers to the state tournament and all three placed. Tim Cotner placed 7th in the 135 lb. weight class, Nick Minard won the 3rd place medal at 103 lbs., While Garett Romele,who has been to state twice before,took 2nd place. Colby Community College in Colby,Ks. won nationals for their region with the help of former R.R.H.S student Chris "Kansas" Smith. | The R.R.H.S. wrestling team........... | ||||||||||||||||||

Les Gutches Who is a former Rogue River High School student in Rogue River,Or. has announced that he plans to retire after his hopeful gold medal win in the 2000 Olympic games. Les has given all wrestlers in southern Oregon a goal to try to achieve. Not just anyone can make the United States Olympic Wrestling Team. You have to train hard even in the off-season. If you never make it past high school wrestling then you have still proven that you have the balls to do what you will never see a "pumpkin pusher" do; get on the mat and kick some ass. e-mail me and I will get back to you to let you know some up-dated facts about wrestling. | ||||||||||||||||||
